The Department of Computer Science, Dimoria College was established in 2001 with Computer Science as a General subject. After that in the year 2003, Major Courses in Computer Science have been introduced. The mission was to popularize the subject and teach students how to use computers effectively, creatively, and intelligently as well as to provide education in both the theoretical and applied foundations of computer science and train students to effectively apply this education to solve real-world problems thus amplifying their potential for lifelong high-quality careers and give them a competitive advantage in the ever-changing and challenging global work environment of the 21st century. Dimoria College is one of the only few colleges in Assam offering Honours in undergraduate courses in Computer Science. Apart from this, the College started Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science and Application in the year 2014 under Gauhati University.
