The Department of Mathematics, Dimoria College was established in 1987. The founder head of the department Mr. Inu Kumar Das had a vision of an environment where the students can learn, become competent users of Mathematics and understand the use of Mathematics in other disciplines. Mr. Amal Chandra Roy has been serving as the Head of the department. The competent faculty members of the department are committed to providing an education that combines rigorous academics with joy of discovery. Currently the department offers both Honours and General B.A, B. Sc course in Mathematics as per the latest syllabus of Gauhati University. The department has a departmental library with more than 300 books covering all the topics of the syllabus. Students are given exposure to departmental seminars, project work and popular talks by invited speakers. After completing their course, they can take up Masters and Doctoral programmes in the future.
