TWO YEARS H.S. COURSE (IN ARTS & SCIENCE)

Eligibility: HSLC Pass CBSE Class X Board Exam Pass)
Combination of Subjects:
1. Higher Secondary (Arts)
i) English
ii) MIL (Assamese/Hindi/ Alternative English)
iii) Environmental Education (for H.S. 1st year)
iv) Elective Subjects: Choose any four subject, one from each group.
a) Group-A: Geography/Anthropology Statistics/Computer Science
b) Group-B Economics / History
c) Group -C : Political Science / Advance Assamese
d) Group- D : Education/ Mathematics/ Swadesh Adhyayan
N.B. Students opting statistics must have mathematics as one of the subject.
2. Higher Secondary (Science)
i) English
ii) (Assamese/Hindi/Alterative English)
iii) Environmental Education. (for H.S. I st year)
iv) Physics
v) Chemistry
vi) Mathematics
vii) Any one from the following subjects-Biology, Statistics, Computer Science and Applications, Anthropology, Geography.
N.B.: Students opting for statistics or computer Science & application must have mathematics as one of the subject.

THREE YEARS DEGREE COURSE IN ARTS AND SCIENCE:

1. Undergradute Degree with Honours (Arts) Honours Disciplines : English, Assamese. History, Economics, Political Science, Geography. Mathematics. Anthropology, Education, Hindi.
2. Undergradute Regular Degree (Arts) Regular Disciplines : Anthropology, Statistics, Political Science, Geography. Mathematics. History, Economics, Education, Folklore, Linguistics (students will have to choose any one subject from the following options available in each categories with regard to discipline specific elective or generic elective).
a) Group - A Anthropology/ Statistics/ Political Science
b) Group - B : Geography/ Mathematics/ History
c) Group - C : Economics/Education/Folklore/ Linguistics
3. Ability/ Skill Enhancement courses will be as per GU, UG, CBCS Regulations.
4. Undergradute Degree with Honours (Science) Honours Disciplines : Physics, Botany, Geology, Mathematics, Anthropology, Zoology, Geograph, Computer Science, Economics and Chemist.
5. Undergradute Regular Degree (Science) Regular Disciplines : Physics. Computer Science. Economics. Chemistry, Anthropology, Statistics, Maths. Zoology, Geography, Geology, Botany. (students will have to choose any one subject from the following options available in each categories with regard to discipline specific elective or generic elective.)

a. Zoology or Botany Honours students may choose Bio-technology & Chemistry as Pass Course.

INSTITUTIONAL BIOTECH HUB
The Institutional Level Biotech Hub (sponsored by DBT, Govt. of India) of Dimoria College. was established in the month of January, 2014. under the Department of Biotechnology, Dimoria College. The objective of the biotech hub is to popularise biotechnology among students and teachers from school and colleges conducting hands on trainings, outreach programs and popular lectures on regular basis. The hub is also planning to conduct studies on molecular marker based diversity analysis of various indigenous Capsicum varieties and some other important plants of North-East India. The priority of research and development area of this Biotech Hub will be Functional genomics and Medical microbiology. The Hub is a well equipped to conduct research activities. The Department of Environment Management, an innovative full time M.Sc. Course sponsored by UGC, 2008, and affiliated to Gauhati Universitty, has been running successfully. The department is engaged in solving various environmental problems of the locality through field visits, survey. collection of data and dissemination of the same to the public for better management. The department regularly organizes seminars and group discussion among the students on current environmental issues. The department has a sophisticated laboratory and intemet facility. The faculty members are also engaged in various research works. This course bears a high potential for placement.

Brief outline of Eco-Restoration Course
# UOC approval and assistance for M.Sc. Ecc Restoration Programme was received under innovative programme-teaching and research in interdisciplinary and emerging area vide letter No. F.I4-42/2004 (Irmo. Asist) dtd. 31-03-04. The first & the second batches of M.Sc. Eco-Restoration Programme secured 100% 1st Class msult in the final semester and almost 100% of them got placement in good sectors. The first Regional Eco-Restoration Resource Centre was inaugurated by Prof Andre Clewell, Restoration specialist. USA and Dr. N.R. Desai. Executive Director, Society for Ecological Restoration. Indian Chapter, Pune in 2005.
# The Deptt. of Eco-Restoration is working in collaboration with the society for Ecological Restoration-India, since 2004
# The Wildflower Satellite Centre was inaugurated by Richard Scott, Land life. National Wildflower Centre, Court Hey Park, Liverpool, UK in 2006.
# The Department organised the 1st International Conference on Restoration Ecology in 2005 wherein keynote address was delivered by James C. Aronson. Researcher & Head. Restoration Ecology Group, Centre L. Emberger d'Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive. Montpellier, France and A.F. Clewell, Eco-Restoration Specialist, USA.
# As per students and faculty exchange programme, a group of ten students along with the teachers of Eco¬Restoration Deptt. visited the Brandenburg Technical University, Cottbus, Germany in July 2008.

iv) Master of Science in Geology
(Affiliated to Gauhati University)
M.Sc. course in Geology started from 2017 with ten seats. The Geology Department with digital class, room facilities, Geo-information laboratory and 2500 books and journals in the departmental library offers best opportunities to the students to have a great learning experience. The Geology laboratory was inspected by GU and upgraded to a research laboratory in the year 2012.
